Kutná Hora was not just another medieval town. In the 14th century it was the second most important city in Bohemia — Prague's rival, the centre of silver mining that bankrolled the Czech kings.
It all started at Vlašský dvůr — the Royal Mint where Prague groschen were struck. The building still stands. And Hotel U Vlašského dvora stands directly opposite.
In 2022, two brothers got the chance to take over the hotel. The location made the decision easy. This isn't just a pin on a map — it is the address from which Kutná Hora unfolds. The Royal Mint around the corner. St Barbara's Cathedral five minutes on foot. The Sedlec Ossuary ten minutes by bus.
The hotel was fully renovated. The calm proportions of the historic building were kept; everything a modern guest needs was added — air conditioning, comfortable beds, fast WiFi and a breakfast worth waking up for. They run it as a family business, without an anonymous front desk and with a personal approach.
Kutná Hora deserves more than a day trip. Hotel U Vlašského dvora is the reason to stay longer.

Vlašský dvůr — the 13th-century Royal Mint — gave both the hotel and the city its name. It is literally across the street.
St Barbara's Cathedral, the Gothic masterpiece dedicated to the patron saint of miners and one of the finest churches in the Czech Republic, is five minutes on foot. The Sedlec Ossuary — one of the most visited landmarks in the country — is ten minutes by bus. The GASK gallery is five minutes away.
55 minutes from Prague by train, one hour by car. Free parking at the hotel.
